Plot[]

Back at the Milton Manor, Herman Steward is reconsidering the consequences of his actions until he is interrupted by Duke. Breel stays over for dinner with the rest of the Milton Ferrets, though he is concerned over whether those in the temple have enough food. Keene responds that he took care of it; he had provided the teams with food bars made from the leftovers from their theme park venture (which expired in 2011). Over dinner, Duke interogrates Breel over his status as an angel, where Duke ends up wishing he were dead too.

Inside the temple, Peanut and Tarot's team are resting on the thirtieth floor, having found chicken for food. Mungo and Res have a talk, whereupon Mungo unintentionally stresses Res out by proclaiming he's a huge fan of the Pridelands books and that he's confident that the last book will meet all of his expectations.

When Peanut wakes up from a nap, he finds a note from Tarot declaring her team has gone ahead as they don't want to be slowed down. Max is annoyed, though Res states that they failed the first puzzle they came across and that they aren't prepared like Tarot is. Peanut is inspired and finally uses his last paper bag, which transforms him into the "Puzzle Master."

On floor forty-four, Tarot's team runs across Joey's team, who have been stuck on a puzzle. No one is able to figure it out until Peanut comes by and solves it with his new powers, confounding Tarot. While everyone else is annoyed, Tarot explains that the temple usually rewards imagination, with Sabrina stating she hasn't been able to use it that way since Tarot's imagination is awful.

In a different part of the temple, Thomas and Sofia are left exhausted (and still suffering from itching terror ivy), with their only item being a flask of green liquid Thomas found in a chest. After they drink it, they are restored to full health. Thomas proclaims that with the medicine they don't need the gold, though he immediately states he still wants to find the gold.
